About Margaret Peirson
Margo studied creative writing at Upsala College and took several independent writing courses as well. She also went to ACC, receiving non-credited certifications in Novel and Short Story writing. Her short story “Christmas Cameo” was published in the Purple Pen Anthology Book in 2005. For many years she has written poetry, some of which appeared in Poetry Anthology books. She also received honorable mention for her poem “Waiting.” A seasonal poem about Winter.
To her credit, she also wrote, produced and directed four screenplays and was in the Quarterfinalist Category for TV Pilot for the Scriptapalooza Writing Competition for “Peek-A-Boo”.
Her first film KHARIZMA, is a psychological thriller about a young man’s obsession with an up and coming actress.(45min)
ILLUSION, her second film, is about a young man’s struggle with his weight and how it affects his relationship with his father, and a young girl who enters his life, causing him more harm then good. (60min) Illusion was aired on Stockton Cable Network (13), WYBE and WHYY. Margo also won the Emerging Filmmaker Award from the Ocean City film Festival held in Somers Pt., N.J. and the Aurora Gold award in the writing category.
FOUR WOMEN AND FREDDY, is a short satirical comedy involving four friends, a terrible misunderstanding, and a deceased husband, which takes place in a cemetery. (20min)
“A SHORT STEP BACK INTO THE PAST,” her fourth film, and her first documentary, tells the story of the Absecon Lighthouse, and how it came into existence, and Lenape Park, a family business, which stopped operating after 100 years. Two different landmarks, but both a huge part of Atlantic County history.
